Director : Maryam Alabbad
Maryam Alabbad is a Kuwaiti filmmaker and creative professional with extensive experience in the media and entertainment industry. Starting her career as a script supervisor, she quickly rose to become a first assistant director, contributing to acclaimed productions across Kuwait, Egypt, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Her credits include notable projects like Amer Ikhlaa 2, She’s Gone with Water, Sajeen Alasaab, and Tash Ma Tash.
In addition to her work in TV series and films, Maryam has served as an assistant director for theater productions and freelanced in various roles for TV ads, shows, and large-scale performances. Her achievements include winning the 2024 Kuwait Award for Youth Creativity and Excellence in Art and earning accolades for her short films, such as AlAbaya, which won Best Costumes at the Arab Film Studio in 2014.
Maryam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Kuwait University and has furthered her expertise through workshops with prestigious organizations like Pixar, the Arab Film Studio Program, and the Doha Film Institute. She is also committed to fostering emerging talent, having taught film workshops in 2023 and 2024.
