THE PATIENT SECRET

Short Fiction :

A domineering and dictatorial merchant treated each member of his family differently, relishing discrimination. He had three daughters and no sons, each with her own distinct life. He also had a brother who was nearly destitute and completely detached from the merchant’s world. The merchant was preoccupied with his business, constantly traveling, attending meetings, and accumulating wealth. When he fell ill and was hospitalized in a coma, his relatives came to visit him, bringing up the problems he hadn’t had time to hear from his daughters and his only brother. Each person entered individually, boldly expressing their concerns and seizing this opportunity.
